How to use July’s New Moon

Aloha!

Happy New Moon!

In Hawaiian tradition we honor the cycles of the moon. We have songs about it. Our kids learn the moon phases in preschool. We plant our crops around it. We fish (or don’t) based on it. There are auspicious days to start things and days to avoid.

I teach my clients to plan their year, months and weeks using it. To use it’s energy.
I’m going to share how you can use the energy of the July New Moon.

First of all, New Moon (aka dark moon) is the beginning of the moon phase.
It is a time of introspection,
Reflection,
Visioning and dreaming.,
Intention setting…
A time to realign.

New moon is an invitation to begin again.
Kinda like the New Year.
Only you get to restart 13 times.

This moon also marks the start of the 2nd half of the year.
2019 is ½ way finished.

How’s it going? You as far along as you want to be?
What do you do before the end of the year?
Change?
Shift?

Here’s how to use the energy and do a New Moon Session:

1:: Set aside some time alone for reflection. 15 minutes is good. 30 minutes is better.

2:: Pull out your journal and ask yourself:

  • What am I called towards?
  • What do I want to cause and create?
  • Where do I feel out of alignment?
  • Is there anything I need to finish releasing to begin again?

3:: If there is anything left to release, do that first. You can set the intention or take your writing and rip it up, burn it or bury it.

4:: Looking at what you wrote, what is the intention you want to set for this moon? This month? What seeds do you want to plant moving forward?

5:: Write your intention on a slip of paper or a card. You can paint it, draw it or even create a collage around it. Then put it somewhere you’ll see it during the month again and again.

Here’s to the seeds you’re planting this moon!

P.S. Would you do me a quick favour?

I’m putting together what to offer next and I’d love your input.
I’d rather hear from you than guess.

Would you take a quick 30 sec and fill this out?

Thank you!
