CATHERINE JUST

an award winning photographer, artist and mentor living part time in both Los Angeles, California and Paris, France. Her career began in 1987 while studying photography, film and video at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Catherine's work has been published on the cover of National Geographic Magazine, inside Oprah.com and PDN.com as well as galleries around the globe including her most recent collaborative show in Paris, France.

Catherine believes that photography can be used to gather up evidence of what's living in between the words and to document the unseen but deeply felt spaces and places within the internal and external landscape. She uses a variety of cameras, lenses and films to express different aspects of life including a vintage 4x5 camera alongside the New 55 Film, A vintage Polaroid SX-70 with the new Impossible Project film and Nikon Digital 35mm dslr with a slight obsession with her 85mm 1.4 lens. Her work takes her to France, Morocco, South Africa, Canada, Spain, Portugal, England and all over the United States.  She teaches workshops and courses both online and in person as well as creating images for highly visible creatives for their websites, books and creative projects. Her most prized creation is her son Max Harrison who happens to have Down syndrome and teaches her the most valuable tool to creativity is love.
