What Would You Do?

Aloha!

Last week Sage cracked his head open.

He was trying a muscle up in our garage and didn’t notice the garage door was up. I was writing an email and Tony asked me calmly to bring ice. I could tell by the tone of his voice something was wrong. Walking in the garage I saw Sage sitting down, blood in his hair. Tony holding his head.

What would you do in that moment?

I decided to pray (quick) and fix it.

Don’t think I wasn’t worried.
What if he had a concussion?
Or blacked out later with brain swelling?
Or had a scar that didn’t heal right?
Or couldn’t remember things anymore?

I wanted to hold my 14 year old baby to my chest, but we both know he’s over that. So I decided to do the next best thing, butterfly bandage it, keep an eye on him, make an appointment with the doctor and roll with it.

Sometimes unexpected things happen and you just have to roll with them.

Unexpectedly being laid off,
Unexpectedly being left by your partner,
Unexpected news from the doctor.
What do you do in those moments?
Do you worry?

“That the birds of worry and care fly over your head, this you cannot change, but that they build nests in your hair, this you can prevent.” -Chinese proverb

What’s your relationship to worry?
Are you letting the birds fly by or build nests?

In 1 talk Jesus says not to worry 3x. 3x. 3x. Seems kinda important to put on repeat.

What do you do instead?

Spirit walks,
Painting prayers,
Intentional movement,
Ritual,
Letting Spirit take the lead and putting worry in the backseat.

What do you do?
If you’d like to share, come on over here to our
sister circle.

-Amber

P.S. Sage is fine. He’s gonna have a great scar.
